RDA

RDA is a new system of catalog coding, standing for “Resource Description and Access”. Many libraries have switched over to RDA, but there are still many systems that are derivative of the AACR2 rules. Since the system is new, the Library of Congress offers training, which is available here. There are also systems that are comprised of variations of the two ways of cataloging by descriptive cataloging and access points that will eventually phase entirely from AACR2 to RDA. OCLC, a global library cooperative, provides more information on RDA and its development, available here.
